Fahad Al-Rajaan has acted as the Director General of the PIFSS (Kuwait’s Social Security Institution) since 1984. This prestigious role requires the management of approximately US$30 billion in assets on behalf of 200,000 active workers and 70,000 retirees in Kuwait coming from oil revenues. The PIFSS was created in the 1970s as a way of institutionalising the distribution of oil revenues to Kuwaiti citizens.
Alongside this role Fahad Al-Rajaan has held numerous prominent positions within the finance and investment industries, including chairmanships and board memberships. As Chairman of the Ahli United Bank (formerly the United Bank of Kuwait), Fahad Al-Rajaan is at the top of the chain within the largest lender by market in Bahrain, and has been named one of the 500 most powerful Arabs in the world.
Fahad Al-Rajaan has also held senior roles within a number of further notable financial institutions in Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, the US and Europe. He is married and has four children – two girls and two boys. He holds a BA in Business Administration from American University in Washington DC.
